"Solar
Eclipses and Their Affect on Us"
by Steven Clair An
eclipse of the Sun takes place when the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth,
at a specific time and specific angle. The angle is what determines whether or
not the eclipse is either a total or partial one. There
are many viewpoints on how long an eclipse will affect an individual and the environment.
I adhere to the classical viewpoint. A Solar Eclipse maintains its' effect and
influence for as many years as the number of minutes the eclipse endures whether
this be in its totality or maximum effect if not a total eclipse. So if a Solar
Eclipse is total for 2 minutes this equates to 2 years. For 23 minutes then 23
years and so forth. Always remember that each Solar Eclipse is simply one event
in a larger cycle lasting many centuries depending on when the initial Solar Eclipse
in that cycle began. Therefore we can and most times do, have more than one eclipse
cycle in effect at any given time. The
Sun is our illumination, which represents the life force for us and this planet
we call home. So when the Moon blocks the Sun in an eclipse, somewhere something
goes dark and the life force is disrupted in an area of our lives. The area of
our lives affected is determined by where in the chart or what house the sign
of the eclipse falls into in relationship to our own Sun sign. The way or manner
in which we are affected depends upon the relationship the sign of the eclipse
has to our own Sun sign. We determine this by walking our way through the signs
of the zodiac starting with Aries first and proceeding all the way through to
Pisces. So keep in mind
the various areas which your own Sun sign rules and the way they can manifest
in your life and you will be prepared. The effects of the eclipse may be either
mild or wild for you. You may ask how will I know this? To understand the particulars
of an eclipse and its affect on you as an individual the eclipse must be compared
against your exact Natal/Birth Chart, particularly if it makes any contact to
any of your Natal/Birth planets. The information contained here will give you
at least some basic information and a heads up at best on what to expect. Enjoy. For
further information and resources please e-mail me. For Natal/Birth Chart Analysis
please follow the instructions on the Contacting Me page. It is my hope that this
shines some light and understanding on the great assistance and foreknowledge
that Astrology can provide us with in our daily lives. |
