"Planetary Glyphs and Their Meanings" Circle is Spirit, Semicircle
is Soul and the Cross is Matter
by Steven Clair
Sun- The Circle (Spirit)
with a Dot in its' center. The Circle (Spirit) is the symbol of infinity without
beginning or end, the force of Life. The Dot is the point of Light sent forth
from the source which it comes. The Dot is the aperture from where the manifest
is born from the not yet manifested, man's Diving origin. The Dot is also the
creative spark of the Divine which is in each one of us. Moon-
Two Semicircles/Crescents (Soul) create the Moon which reveals the finite and
manifested. The Moon absorbs and reflects light from the Sun. The Moon gives form
to the Suns' infinite creative energy. Making potential an actuality. Of the two
halves of the circle or Semicircles (Soul) which makeup the Moon, one is the Divine
Consciousness and the other is the Human Consciousness. This joining creates the
personality and represents all that is receptive like: instincts, feelings, emotions
and subconscious. Mercury-
The Semicircle (Soul) on a Circle (Spirit) upon a Cross (Matter). Mercury's symbol
represents active intelligence. Semicircle (Soul) is the higher mind and inspirational
things. Cross (Matter) is earth bound activities, relationship of the rational
mind to its surroundings. Circle (Spirit) is the source of energy which gives
life to the mind. It receives impulses and information from two directions, the
semicircle (Soul) and the cross (Matter). Mercury can function in 2 broad categories:
the imitator and the genius. Venus-
The Circle (Spirit) upon the Cross (Matter). The Circle (Spirit) is inspiring
the Cross (Matter) to perfect its' forms of expression. Higher aspirations and
desires (Spirit) over the material and sensual desires of Earth (Matter). Mars-
Here we have the reverse of Venus. Ancient symbol is a Cross (Matter) on a Circle
(Spirit). The more modern symbol has shifted it slightly. Here is a tendency for
the flesh (Matter) to win out over higher aspirations (Spirit). Needs of the individual
become more important than the needs of Mankind. In its' highest aspect it can
show emergence of new forms of self-expression that result from the interplay
between Spirit and Matter. Jupiter-
Semicircle (Soul) rising above the Cross (Matter). Here the Soul has triumphed
over its' earthly experiences, obtaining through these experiences the wisdom
of Universal Law as it applies to earthly life. Man is liberated from his personal
and restrictive attitudes so that he can act unfettered and impartially directly
out of and from his understanding of Truth. Saturn-
Cross (Matter) rising over the Semicircle (Soul). Material gain and power
over the Soul is the key here. This makes us think about Satan the Tempter. Here
lays the dangers of the egocentric personality. Saturn is the bridge or the connector
from the inner planets (Mercury, Venus & Mars) of the personal self to the
transpersonal planets (Uranus, Neptune & Pluto) of universal consciousness. Uranus-
Two Semicircles (Soul) connected by Cross (Matter) rising from Circle (Spirit).
This is the connecting between the Souls of the individual with the Soul of Mankind.
These two aspects of the Soul are placed on either side of a Cross (Matter) which
join the individual and/or personal consciousness with the greater of Mankind
or Collective towards development on Earth (Matter) to aid in Man's higher evolution
in Spirit (Circle). Neptune-
Two Semicircles (Soul) pierced by the Cross (Matter). Each prong of the Trident
(which there are three), represents something. The first is the physical body
and 5 senses. Second is emotional/astral body. The third is mental/causal body.
Man is given earthly life experiences so he can elevate these three ones or parts
of his being to a more developed level. Pluto-
The newest glyph (P) represents the finder of Pluto (Percival Lowell) and is easier
to draw. The original glyph is a Circle (Spirit) which emits its' rays of life
which are then encased by the receptive nature of the Semicircle (Soul). These
rays descend even further until they reach and manifest in the material plane
represented by the Cross (Matter) this is the Involutionary Process. Just like
our own spiritual process this process takes place in both directions, referred
to Involution and Evolution. With an Evolutionary Process the physical life/Matter
(Cross) causes awakening in consciousness which then becomes assimilated into
the Soul (Semicircle) then transmuted to Spirit (Circle) through the ethers to
be integrated. |
